Joseph L. Brady, Jr.
"Joe"
Joe first started working with Brady Brothers Company at the end of 10th
grade at the age of 15 while attending a prestigious all boy's prep school.
His duties that first summer included carpenter's helper, laborer and jack
of all trades for the jobs that the seasoned workers didn't want to stomach.
By the spring of Joe's senior year in prep school, his father put him in
charge on a part time basis of home sales on a large custom home development
in Montgomery County, PA after a full time realtor had been dismissed from
the project. His first month he had 4 new home sales and a new permanent
position as the in house new home sales specialist for Brady Brothers Company.
By age 19 in 1974 Joe had sold over $7,000,000 of new semi custom built
homes.
In the spring of 1974 Joe was elevated to executive vice president of Brady
Brothers Company as they undertook The Whitemarsh Business Campus, a class
A, 90 acre business park in Whitemarsh Township which had been in the wings
since the mid 1960s.
In the fall of 1974 Joseph L. Brady, Joe's dad was diagnosed with terminal
cancer and this created an extremely challenging fork in the road for Joe.
Just approaching the age of 20 Joe now had to take on heading a major real
estate conglomerate with his late uncle Anthony L. Brady (Tony) with Joe
assuming more of a surrogate president role for his father.
In February of 1976 Joseph L. Brady, Sr. finally passed on from his long
bout with colon cancer.
